Around the world, it is well recognised that young drivers, motorcyclists and older drivers are vulnerable road users. If we consider their proportion of the driving population, these groups are over-represented in the crash statistics.

The influences of age and the level of driving/riding experience are relevant to each of these road user groups, and recommendations are made regarding ways to improve road safety for young drivers, motorcyclists and older drivers.
