What is it about?

This research focuses on the appropriate selection of recycled and bio-plastics for manufacturers in terms of their environmental performance (GWP), cost, recyclability and quality. The shift to these new plastics could contribute toward carbon neutral goals.

Why is it important?

Currently recycled plastics are underused in some sectors and bio-plastics are very expensive. We hope to close these gaps by identifying a methodology to choose appropriate plastics for each purpose.

Perspectives

It seems obvious to shift to lower cost, lower GWP recycled plastics, but we also need to be conscious of peoples preferences, and particularly manufacturers requirements. This works aims to close these gaps.
