What is it about?

It is important to have different column configuration during preconcentration (preferrable shape - disk) and thermodesorption (preferrable shape - narrow tube) steps. The transformaion of one column to another can be easily achieved by using magnetic adsorbents.

Why is it important?

The change in column configuration during preconcentration and thermodesorption allows speed up analysis and its efficiency.

Perspectives

Ideally this approach can be automated and used in commercial analytical instruments.
