What is it about?
This study aims to explore Jordanian women’s sociocultural perceptions and misconceptions about PPD using the descriptive phenomenological design.

Why is it important?
Studies in Jordan have mostly focused on investigating the risk factors and prevalence rates of PPD rather than figuring out how women view the disorder. The dearth of these studies results in a knowledge gap that makes it more difficult to identify culturally relevant interventions that work for women with PPD.
Perspectives
More research could better comprehend women’s perceptions of PPD misconceptions by using mixed-method approaches.
