What is it about?

Plastics like polyurethane are widely used in everyday products, but they are usually made from fossil fuels and are not very sustainable. In this study, researchers developed a new type of building block for making polyurethane plastics. These new building blocks are partly made from ingredients that can come from carbon dioxide, helping to reduce their environmental impact.
