This review analyzes the current knowledge about the impact of nutrients in the auditory function. Moreover, it shows the potential of nutritional interventions to prevent hearing loss.

The importance of this work relies on the comparison and analysis of epidemiological data and the complementary studies carried out in animal models to provide the mechanistic insights into the observed outputs.
