What is it about?
In this paper the impact of laser structuring battey electrodes is modelled. First a model is developed capable of describeing the impact of the electrode geometry in detail. Then, model parameters are established based on four different batteries, assembled from structured and unstructered anodes and cathodes. Having set up this fully parameterised model, a virtual optimisation of the geometrical struture parameterss such as channel width and pitch is performed.

This works helps to understand and optimise the impact of laser structuring battery electrodes. Based on the computer aided optimisation, a lot of cost in the production of prototypes can be saved.
