What is it about?

Under the right conditions, lead can be removed from copper metallurgy slag with great efficiency using ascorbic acid. At the same time, the leaching solution removes the copper and iron contained in this material to a small extent.

Why is it important?

The proposed hydrometallurgical method can successfully replace the currently used pyrometallurgical process, which is economically and ecologically costly.

Perspectives

I hope that the information provided will inspire other researchers to study the use of ascorbic acid in recycling processes.
