What is it about?
This study examines whether the Turkish version of the Celiac Dietary Adherence Test is a valid and reliable tool for assessing how well adults with celiac disease follow a gluten-free diet. The questionnaire was adapted into Turkish and tested in adult patients to evaluate its consistency, accuracy, and measurement performance. The results show that the Turkish version of the test can be used as a practical assessment tool in both clinical practice and research settings.

Why is it important?
Following a strict gluten-free diet is essential for people with celiac disease, but accurately assessing dietary adherence can be challenging. Having a reliable and culturally appropriate questionnaire helps healthcare professionals identify patients who may need additional dietary support. This study provides a validated Turkish tool that can support better clinical follow-up, patient education, and research on dietary adherence in adults with celiac disease.
Perspectives
This validated questionnaire offers a practical perspective for clinicians and dietitians working with adults with celiac disease. It can be used to monitor dietary adherence over time and to identify individuals who may benefit from targeted nutritional counseling. In future research, the tool may support larger population studies and evaluations of interventions aimed at improving long-term adherence to a gluten-free diet.
