Why is it important?

3D printed tissue scaffolds is an emerging area of research with high activity, therefore needing papers that review and assess the current state of the art and where gaps currently exist in research. The paper outlines key challenges in design, fabrication, and assessment approaches that can aid researchers across disciplines in moving tissue scaffold research forward.

Perspectives

The paper is an overview of four years of work from my postdoctoral research while also bringing together the state of the art from other researchers on related topics.
