What is it about?
Here, I reviewed the current knowledge on post-translational modifications regulating the mammalian methionine cycle and transsulfuration enzymes.

Why is it important?
There is an increasing number of new post-translational modifications identified by high-throughput methods that have been also found on certain enzymes of these pathways, although the information is restricted to the identification of the modification sites.
Perspectives
There is a need to examine the functional role of the new post-translational modifications identified, a fact that requires specific studies.
