What is it about?

The objective of the manuscript is to reinforce the demand side management strategies that already exist in literature, and particularly in individual housing. The electricity consumption management system proposed in this article takes into consideration dynamic electricity rates and user constraints. The ultimate challenge is to find the best ratio both to minimize users’ constraints and maximize the reduction of electricity cost

Why is it important?

Three main contributions are particularly highlighted: 1. A methodology to measure the real electricity consumption of several show houses 2. An algorithm to predict the energy consumption day-to-day in individual housing 3. An algorithm to control the electricity consumption of various household appliances and reduce the cost of electrical energy

Perspectives

The model proposed in this article represents a real cornerstone of a new algorithm used both to better manage the cost of electricity consumption in a smart home, and limit the peak demand
