What is it about?

The raw data was cold, the calculations inhuman, but the stakes were cosmic. Neural networks dissected the physics of a neutron star, searching for the blueprint of a new age. Jungle gyms, anti-gnocchi... bizarre geometries formed the foundation for a discovery that could change the world. Or destroy it. The code was freely available - the race to the finish was wide open. Why is it important?

Pastas are predicted by various models, but being 3D structures it is difficult to compare pastas from different models, a method is proposed here to make such comparison. It uses a neural network trained with over 9,000 pasta structures from molecular dynamics calculations, and it produces two of Minkowski functionals to carry out such comparison.

Perspectives

It is hope that the neural network provided freely at Github will be used by various researchers to start a wider comparison of models.
