Why is it important?

Structure and functional are closely related but understanding the rules that govern magnetically switchable complexes remains a challenge. This paper presents one way in which structure and thus magnetic behaviour can be controlled.

Perspectives

The use of aromatic groups in the design of this spin crossover material will hopefully encourage others in the search for more diverse spin crossover materials.
