What is it about?

Australian health professionals were surveyed about how they currently support children and families in their caseloads who have food allergies and potential feeding behaviours. They were also asked what access they have to multidisciplinary services at their workplace, and what services they think should be offered.

Why is it important?

This article highlights that access to current services for feeding issues and food allergies is limited, which mirrors other research. Multidisciplinary services are more easily accessed within the hospital based system. Community-based and private practice are further restricted by referral processes, information sharing and waiting lists. Further research should be completed into the carer perspectives of accessing services for these children.
