What is it about?

miRNA is usually regarded to bind to seed region of target mRNA and interrupt translation. However, off-targe effect is often observed. This is the first report about comprehensive miRNA sequence non-specific off target effect.

Why is it important?

mRNA affected by miRNA sequence non-specific off target effect is universal, i.e., independent of transfected miRNAs or cell lines. Thus it is expected to play various critical roles.

Perspectives

As a bioinformatic researcher, it is a part of paper about the applications of tensor decomposition based unsupervised feature extraction applied to bioinformatics problem.
