Optical Transmission at 2 µm in Titanium Dioxide Waveguides

Why is it important?

To date, optical telecommunciation in the 2 µm spectral band have been demonstrated into fibers but in waveguides, there are almost no results. this paper demonstrates high bit rate telecommunications in this new band. Moreover, for the first time, we consider a relatively unexplored material (in this context) : Titanium dioxide.
