What is it about?

Using a technique known as multi-criteria decision-making with an analytical hierarchy process, suitable sites were located for solar and wind power plants in the Central North region of Namibia. We drew from an extensive literature review to identify suitable criteria for both types of power production, and utilised secondary and freely available data. the results were compared to existing global analyses.

To address relevant sustainable development goals, decrease carbon output, and improve energy independence, Namibia has made a commitment to increasing her reliance on renewable energy sources. Identifying suitable locations for associated power production plants is an important step towards realising this goal.
