What is it about?
We present, test and validate a scale to measure personal values that typically underlie pro-environmental and sustainable preferences behaviors. Our new scale - the E-PVQ - adapted the original SVS items typically employed within environmental research to the more recent PVQ methodology. Analyses show that both scales are valid and reliable and similarly predict environmental preferences and behaviours.

Why is it important?
Values are seen as important motivations behind people's (environmental) behaviours and beliefs. However, different scales have been employed to measure these values, making it unclear whether findings converge and what most accurately measures human values. The current paper provides important insight in this issue..
Perspectives
Writing this paper gave me a clear overview of the value literature within environmental research.
