What is it about?

This is the demonstration of a novel successful therapy for medulloblastoma - the tumor of the cerebellum - based on the control of the migration of neoplastic precursor cells, rather than on the control of their proliferation, which proves to be very difficult if not impossible in the long term

Why is it important?

The neoplastic cell is forced by the chemokine Cxcl3 to migrate and then differentiate, thus exiting the neoplastic program.

Perspectives

Possibiilty to use this approach for therapy, as the intracerebellar administration of Cxcl3 appears feasible and not toxic
