What is it about?

In 2016, we were the first group to characterise RICH2 KO mice (Sarowar et al., 2016, Mol. Brain). The mice showed a very rare phenotype (fear of objects (and only objects)) that may correspond to specific phobias present in some humans. In the study, we therefore analysed this feature in more detail on molecular level (focusing on the amygdala), and behavioural level. We have identified the synaptic mechanism responsible for the synaptic deficits.
