What is it about?

Describes first, informal, observations on the alternative perception of the merry-or-worry illusion of alternating facial expression depending on what virtual structure of the face is attended.

Why is it important?

Shows that and possibly how spatial attention to facial element determines the subjective selection of facial structure and concomitant perceived expression carried by that structure. Calls for more formal research on this effect.

Perspectives

I do hope that some colleague(s) would find this illusion inspiring for Gestalt perception research combined with facial affect perception research.
