What is it about?

A gas called nitric oxide is produced by some nerve cells in the vertebrate nervous system. These cells are responsible for several phenomena in animal biology. The distribution of these gas-producing cells is illustrated in this research and its relation to locomotion is shown.

Why is it important?

This gas is very important in neural diseases. Knowing its distribution and its role in recovery can help scientists find new therapeutic tools.
