Why is it important?

Our research investigates the impact of catheter ablation on quality of life in patients with atrial fibrillation. Using real-world data from the multicenter FREEZE Cohort Study, we compared cryoballoon and radiofrequency ablation. Both techniques significantly improved patients’ quality of life, with cryoballoon ablation showing greater benefits in several patient-reported outcomes.

Perspectives

Our findings emphasize that successful AF treatment should be measured not only by freedom from arrhythmia, but also by meaningful improvements in patients’ everyday lives.
