What is it about?

It is an attempt to establish the quantum boundaries of life, pursued via recent advances in theoretical chemical physics and quantum chemistry. In particular we derive and review the combined use of the Fourier- and the Laplace transform. The formulation is focused on the conjugate relationship between energy-time and momentum-space. Implications provide novel information-based representations yielding a thermo-qubit syntax for communication, which are required to support the quantum Darwinian view of life.

Why is it important?

In contrast to many recent top-down strategies, the present formulation provides a bottom-up approach that captures the complex, multi-scale properties of living systems.

Perspectives

In view of the recent statements concerning the future domination of generative artificial intelligence, it contrasts, current popular statements such as 'intelligence doesn’t require flesh, blood or carbon atoms” or “it’s computation all the way down. Wheeler's popular dictum “it from bit” does not appear valid unless amended with its obverse “bit from it”.
