Why is it important?

Assessed the disinfection performance of the drinking water bottle. This bottle is fitted with UV that kills bacteria. Great for traveling to remote areas where water quality may be an issue. The bottle had deliberately contaminated water, and after 55 seconds of disinfection cycle, >99.9% of food-borne bacteria were inactivated.

Perspectives

This is about protecting travelers from water-borne diseases by using portable and personal bottles capable of inactivating bacteria.
