Why is it important?
While there has been considerable focus on the 'video nasty' era in Britain (circa 1982-84), this article looks at earlier, lesser charted territory, when just a few opportunistic independent distributors were stepping with uncertainty into a new entertainment field, and how they both benefited and suffered from the medium's association with pornography.
