What is it about?
My essay is a literary analysis that parallels Nietzsche's philosophical ideas of freedom, inner self, rebirth through knowledge and self individual construction with a contemporary adolescent novel written by Spanish author Carmen Martín Gaite. This novel is a modern version of Little Red Riding Hood.

Why is it important?
Research in children and adolescent literature in Spanish is very scarce in the English language. Folk tales/Fairy Tales versions/adaptation written in Spanish have been studied and known by very few scholars in the field. This study is one of the few critical literary essays that combines philosophy and folk tales adaptations written in Spanish.
