What is it about?
This is the introduction to the collection of essays I put together for Edinburgh University Press: *Romantic Environmental Sensibility: Nature, Class and Empire*. It indicates the extent to which our representations of the land, as well as of the plants, animals and people who live on the land, are imposed upon by habits of thought that are profoundly class-based.
