What is it about?
Preventing and reducing the incidence of ROP will reduce the impact of visual impairment until blindness occurs. Variations in the ROP management approach are an effort to improve quality according to the level of neonatal care.

Why is it important?
Retinopathy of prematurity is an important indicator of the quality of good neonatal care not only in HIC (High-Income Countries) but also in LMIC (Low-middle-Income Countries). Concerted action is needed to reduce the high incidence of ROP. The clinical approach through the acronym "STOP-R1O2P3" can help implement the standard practice in neonatal intensive care units in preventing the development and progression of ROP in LMICs, especially in Indonesia.
Perspectives
I hope this article makes what people might think is a boring, slightly abstract area like health economics and measuring things like health, kind of interesting and maybe even exciting. Because the way we spend money on health and social care is not just a problem for politicians, managers, and researchers to worry about - it is an issue that touches every single human being on this planet in one way or another. More than anything else, and if nothing else, I hope you find this article thought-provoking.
