What is it about?

Children suffering from cancer are more vulnerable than others. This study performed to outline the clinical characteristics and outcome of children with cancer with severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection.

Why is it important?

Children at all ages appeared susceptible to COVID-19 and there was significant gender difference. Clinical manifestations of children’s COVID-19 cases were generally less severe than those of adult patients. Death rate is more in children with cancer than others.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaborations. This article also lead to rare disease groups in pandemic era contacting me and ultimately to a greater involvement in rare disease research
