Why is it important?

Lagenaria siceraria (Bottle gourd; Kaddu/ Loki in Pakistan) is a common vegetable cultivated on large scale. It would be viable to use its biomass for the removal of toxic material from industrial effluents.

Perspectives

Removal of toxic materials from polluted waters is crucial. It is important to explore viable strategies for this purpose. The present study uses biomass of bottle gourd.
