What is it about?

This chapter compares and contrasts the incidences and deaths caused by COVID-19 and its economic impact (in terms of GDP, inflation, unemployment, and foreign remittances) in all eight South Asian countries. This empirical evidence is couched in the lives (epidemiological impact) versus livelihoods (economic impact) dichotomy spurred by COVID-19.
