Why is it important?

This article deals with a recent lecture of Partha Chatterjee, a world renowned political scientist holding a chair of Anthropology at the Columbia University, USA. Chatterjee in his recent lecture at the University of Calcutta did not give due importance to social-cultural anthropology at the University of Calcutta. I have pointed out this fact in this article supported by facts and evidences.

Perspectives

The article has its wider perspective in relation to the the history of anthropology in India.
