What is it about?

Psychosocial work environment can play an important role in health promotion. We evaluated the relationship between psychosocial work environment and health from a salutogenic perspective among Lithuanian hospital workers.

Why is it important?

Research in the area of workplace health promotion from a salutogenic perspective is lacking in Eastern Europe. A salutogenic approach enables an organisation to identify how to improve working conditions for the employees by focusing on possibilities and resources. Individual activities for workplace health promotion among different work groups seem necessary.

Perspectives

Unique results focusing on a salutogenic approach towards working environment and health are presented in the publication. This study was the first attempt in Lithuania to evaluate workplace as a health resource, not a cause of diseases.
