What is it about?
The paper presents a research for alien marine and coastal species and how they change local eco system. The focus of this research is on the Black Sea eco system and introduction of alien species during the years as a result of maritime transportation activities in the area.

Why is it important?
The researched problem is important because Ballast Water Management Convention is already in force and Maritime education has to make some changes in this respect. It is vital important for the institutions to implement BWM Convention in all aspects - ecology, ship intact stability, navigation engineering prospects and so on.
