Why is it important?

South Africa seems to be losing the battle against substance use. People are losing faith that the country, has the capacity and willpower to sustainably and decisively deal with the problem of substance use. This article identifies the systemic, structural, and institutional deficiencies and offers recommendations to the same.

Perspectives

I hope this article will inspire attitude change among drug and substance use programmers and help to strengthen existing interventions in the light of the evidence generated in this paper.
