Intonation of information-seeking yes-no questions in western Iberian varieties

What is it about?

In this paper, we study the geographical distribution of the nuclear configuration of information-seeking yes-no questions in western Iberian varieties, to check whether this prosodic feature has a dialectal and diachronic behavior like other phonetic or grammatical features. The objective is to explain the development of the linguistic boundaries of this area over time and, in short, to understand how the western Iberian varieties were made up.
