What is it about?

We tested whether in patients with severe facial pain due to multiple sclerosis, which had not responded to medical therapy, electrical stimulation with surgically implanted subcutaneous leads in the painful areas lead to an improvement. In the beginning all patients benefitted from the treatment, but in the long term some experienced a relapse of their symptoms.
