What is it about?

For patients with cerebral palsy, their spasticity often requires infusion of baclofen treatment into their spinal canal (thecal sac). However, many of these patients have concomitant scoliosis and lumbar fusion from previous surgeries, making placement of the catheter for medication delivery more difficult. Here, we describe a new technique with image-guidance for safe, effective catheter placement at Boston Children's Hospital.
