What is it about?
This short but pertinent and important paper points out the need for using the CORRECT radiological method to study mTBI/concussion AFTER the symptoms resolve. mTBI/concussion has become a SYMPTOM ONLY diagnosis and treatment, and that is not appropriate!...Absence of symptoms is NOT proof that the concussed/mTBI or blast injury has healed!...Proof must be obtained after symptoms are gone to assure REAL brain healing----this can be done with DTI(Diffusion Tension Imaging), as a follow-on to fMRI and other means!........Remember Koch's postulates?.....these need to be applied in concussion/mTBI as in other medical treatments.......plain CT or MRI are inappropriate studies for axonal tract damage which are responsible primarily for post-cincussive symptoms and mTBI/concussion injuries.........

Why is it important?
The article of interest of my comments implied in the title that normal CT & normal MRI are sufficient to use as evidence for 'brain healing' .....and this is simply not so......
Perspectives
I have a very personal interest in concussion/mTBI and a desire to change or improve the standard of care despite our medical and radiological colleague's foot dragging in using and improving DTI science.........I have a TBI&PTS(D) from my deployment to Mosul,Iraq as the ER doc&triager for a combat support hospital from 2004-2005......we were mortared&attacked on a daily basis.....
