What is it about?

The Canada-U.S. border experienced many changes in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. My article addresses some of the significant issues regarding wait times since the attacks of 9/11.

Why is it important?

I examine some to the factors that have caused changes in border procedures so that we can better understand how we got to the place we are today and what we can realistically do to make constructive changes.

Perspectives

My perspective is that of a Canadian who understands the reaction of American authorities to 9/11 but wants to explore new technologies which can address the concerns for robust security while at the same time facilitating faster crossing times which increases economic benefits for both countries.
