Why is it important?

Intimate relations are commonly conceived as grounded in long term mutual trust. Based on fieldwork in low-income contexts of northeast Brazil this article suggests that some events of everyday life can also be seen as meaningfully intimate even if they are not premised on such ~deep~ understanding.
