What is it about?
Terraced landscapes are composed of different structures. Mapping their location and landscape-level configuration is critical to understanding how they are managed. This study presents a geographical information system to map a northern Mediterranean terraced landscape to inform management plans.

Why is it important?
In this study, we identified and described the features that allow distinguishing specific terraced landscape structures. We also measured the map accuracy and integrated all the data in a geographical information system. This helped to inform the local landscape-level management plans.
Perspectives
Identified features of terraced landscape structures can nowadays be used to improve landscape-level surveys through drones and Lidar sensors.
