What is it about?

The characterization was done using Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA), Dielectric Relaxation Spectroscopy (DRS), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Wide Angle X-ray Diffraction (WAXD) and electrical conductivity measurements.

Why is it important?

We propose mechanisms for determining the network formation and structure. This is important in explaining the structures and properties relationships. Two significant findings are that: a) The dependence of the dynamic mechanical and dielectric parameters (E′, E″, tanδ, ε′, ε″, σ and Tg) is associated with the filler content and is controlled by the employed curing conditions.b) A correlation between conductivity and glass transition behavior in epoxy resin based nanocomposites is observed.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors from different universites with whom I have had long standing collaborations. It is important, since it gives new toughts about the sructure- properties relatioships in polymer nanocomposites.
