Why is it important?

Contrary to the existing literature, the effect of extremely low density PVC foam core materials (40 kg × m-3 and 48 kg × m-3) on the bending behavior of sandwich structures having face sheets of 200 g × m-2 carbon and glass fiber fabrics in different fiber orientations were investigated.

Perspectives

Comprehensive research on the bending properties of sandwich panels was carried out focusing on core density, type of fiber facings, and the fiber orientation of the facings.
