What is it about?

Epiblepharon is a misdirection of the lower eyelid that in which the eyelashes contact and damage the ocular surface. In this article we propose the application of botulinum toxin in the orbicularis muscle of the eyelid in order to ameliorate this condition.

It is a simple, non-invasive technique that could be perform by any ophthalmologist and could prevent serious damage to the eye.

Perspectives

We think that this intervention could prevent damage to the ocular surface while waiting spontaneous resolution.
