What is it about?

Thyroid hormones are major hormones that affect the body system and organs functions. People residing in high lands have possibilities for increased thyroid hormones which is well regulated by hypothalamus, hormone secreting structure in brain. In this study, the rise in hormones in high-lander are found to be dissociated from normal control mechanism for thyroid hormone secretion which otherwise is under good regulatory control from hypothalamus in healthy people at sea level.
