What is it about?

Decrease in blood pressure after spinal anesthesia is a common problem. Numerous methods have been described but none of them have worked. We compared giving intravenous ringers lactate before or after spinal anesthesia.

Though, the two compared methods of prevention of hypotension were comparable, administration of intravenous fluid rapidly after spinal anesthesia delayed the occurrence of hypotension and may be safer in terms of preventing hypotension related side effects to the child.
