What is it about?

This work describes the application of natural plant polysaccharide as pharmaceutical mucoadhesive excipients in delivery systems to reduce the clearance rate through nasal cavity.

Why is it important?

The polymer used is from natural and edible source, which is non-toxic and can be used for bypassing the drug degradation in liver. It can be a good delivery system to bypass pre-systemic metabolism of drug.

Perspectives

Designing this work and writing this article was a great experience. Our group is working on natural polysaccharides and their pharmaceutical applications since 20 years.
